Program Description

The Regional Mobility Program was launched in the year 2001 with the aim to enable and provide financial support for university professors from the "Soros region" to participate in CEU events (workshops, roundtables and seminars) organized by SEP/SPO.

Participation in such events is often the first step for an ongoing relationship/collaboration between CEU professors/departments and a regional university which can be considered as a basis for longer cooperation, for example in the form of offering research opportunities at CEU, and general promotion and recruitment work, done by the regional professors after their experience in CEU's academic environment.

Purpose:

• To strengthen and maintain CEU's network in the region
• To promote and strengthen departmental/professorial collaboration with regional universities
• To strengthen cooperation between CEU and the HESP supported institution in the region
• To support the development or revision of social science faculties
• To aid CEU's and regional professors' understanding of the various issues in higher education
• To contribute to the construction and recognition of the image of CEU as an excellent post-graduate educational institution and research center
