The
Senate consists of the President and Rector, the Academic Pro-Rector
and representatives of the faculty and the student body of the university.
The Rector chairs the Senate, which meets at least three times in
a year.
The
Senate considers and makes recommendations concerning all matters
of general university interest, and it establishes, approves or
initiates academic programs. The Senate establishes academic standards,
and standards of admission. It elects the Pro-Rectors upon proposal
of the President and Rector. It adopts standing rules concerning
academic positions, appointments, possible tenure, academic duties,
student rights and academic procedures, subject to approval of the
Board of Trustees.
