CEU Philosophy Graduate Conference

The 3rd CEU Philosophy Graduate Conference

March 20-21, 2010

Central European University, Budapest

Submission deadline

The deadline for submissions is December 15, 2009.

Conference format

Participating students will speak for approximately 40 minutes, followed by a 10 minute commentary by a student or faculty member, and a discussion period. The language of the conference is English.

Guidelines

Papers can discuss any philosophical topic or thinker. Please prepare your paper to suit a conference setting. Selection will be based on clarity, depth, and originality.

Papers should be no longer than 4,000 words (including footnotes, excluding references), and should be accompanied by an abstract no longer than 300 words (not included in the wordcount). The submissions will be blind reviewed, so no personal data should appear in the body of the paper. Be aware of the fact that the software you use may automatically insert identification elements (e.g., check under File>Properties in Microsoft Word, or File>Document Properties in Adobe Reader). Consult your software's documentation on how to remove them. We prefer electronic submission, but will also accept hard copies.

Please note that we cannot accept more than one submission per student; also, we won't be able to consider papers which exceed the 4,000 words limit. Receipt of submissions will be confirmed by email, and the selection's outcome will be communicated to all students as soon as possible.

Electronic submissions

We are able to handle the most common document formats (Microsoft Word Document, Rich Text Format, Portable Document Format, PostScript, etc.). Please inquire if you need to use another format.
