Besmir Beja Team member

Besmir Beja received his LL.B. from the Tirana University, Law Faculty, Albania. During his studies and after graduation Besmir was interning with the legal department of a private Italian Bank in Tirana. In November 2008 he started working as a jurist for a private company operating in the financial sector. In the same year he also started part-time studies at Marin Barleti University, Tirana, Albania in Business Management.
Since August 2009 Besmir is enrolled in the LL.M. Program in International Business Law at the Central European University. His interest is focused on International Commercial Arbitration and Corporations, gathering knowledge and experience to help the Albanian legal system further develop in these crucial areas for a fast economic development, and his thesis is entitled “A comparison between the governance structure of public companies in Germany, France and Albania”. As a member of the CEU Vis Moot team, Besmir is working on the merits of the case.

Gabriela Dan Team member

Gabriela Dan has earned her Bachelor of Laws degree from the Babeş-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. During her undergraduate studies, she spent an exchange semester at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz, Austria. Gabriela also holds a Certificate of Transnational Law issued by the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
Since August 2009 Gabriela is enrolled in the LL.M. Program in International Business Law at the Central European University. Her thesis in International Commercial Arbitration is entitled “The doctrine of separability in the practice of Romania and Moldova”. As a member of the CEU Vis. Moot team, Gabriela is working on the merits of the case.

Liana Kartsivadze Team member

Liana Kartsivadze obtained her Bachelor Degree from Tbilisi State University (Tbilisi, Georgia). In course of her studies she has mainly focused on Private and Private International Law , and has successfully participated in a number of national moot court competitions . Liana has volunteered for several NGO’s and observed several election processes in 2006, 2007 and 2009 , and s he has been working as an intern in the Tbilisi City Court and as legal assistant in the freight forwarding company. Liana has also participated in the 15 th Vis Moot Court competition, working on the merits of the case. Since August 2009 she is enrolled in the LLM Program in International Business Law at the Central European University in Budapest Hungary. Her main area of interest is in International Arbitration and her thesis will be devoted to this field. As a member of the CEU Vis Moot team , Liana will be working on the procedural issues of this year’s case.

Kanykei Kasybekova Team member

Kanykei Kasybekova received her Bachelor degree in Law (Magna Cum Laude) in 2009, at the American University in Central Asia from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. She is particularly interested in intellectual property law, and made her internship in the law firm of a patent attorney. Additionally, she spent different periods of internships at the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights Peace Corps in Kyrgyzstan, and in the Bishkek city court. Since August, 2009 Kanykei is enrolled in the LL.M Program on International Business Law at the Central European University, preparing to write her thesis on trademark and domain name dispute resolution issues in the Kyrgyz Republic. Having previous experience from participating to the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, Kanykei is now preparing for the Vis Moot, working on the merits of the case.
