Pre-moots
As part of the preparation activities, the CEU team traditionally participates in several pre-moot rehearsals with other universities, and team members are also expected to participate in try-out rounds organized in Vienna prior to the Moot, with different teams, depending on organization varying from one year to another.

In addition, since 2009 CEU is the host of the only International Pre-Moot in Hungary, an excellent opportunity to practice with teams from the region (and not only) in front of high level arbitrators, legal professionals and academics, coming to this successful event both from Hungary and abroad.

 2010 Pre-Moots

For the 17 th Vis Moot, the CEU team prepared at the practice rounds organized at the University of Warsaw, at the ICC in Paris, and at the Catholic University of Leuven.

In addition, in 2010 CEU hosted the 2nd HUNGARIAN PRE-MOOT, held on March 12 and 13, 2010 in the beautiful city centre of Budapest (download poster).

The two-day long event hosted 16 teams from 8 countries - a total of approximately 90 students, 17 coaches, and 30 arbitrators who all appreciated the pre-moot as being an excellent academic and professional event.

Based on the scoring (identical with the one used in Vienna), the Best Oralist Award was offered to James Osun-Sanmi (see image below), from London College of Law.

2009 Pre-Moots

- March 8-9, 2009 - the First Hungarian Pre-Moot at the Central European University, hosting the teams of the University of Miskolc (Hungary), Masaryk University Brno (Czech Republic), Palacký Univ. Olomouc (Czech Republic), Justus-Liebig University of Giessen (Germany), Paris X University Nanterre (France), University of Bucharest (Romania), and more than 20 arbitrators, legal professionals and university professors to act as moot arbitrators. The event combined professional and leisure activities, offering some excellent networking opportunities for everybody, and proved to be very successful among the participating students, the Faculty and the invited arbitrators as well. In addition, the best oralists were awarded and received special gifts from the host Legal Studies Department.
