a) development stage
- identification of relevant calls for proposal and targeted
dissemination of information within CEU
- assistance in project design and proposal writing (deadlines,
deliverables, budget, legal issues, research ethics requirements,
etc.)
- administrative tasks related to proposal writing (forms, documents,
etc.)
- facilitation of university decision making process (liaising
with the Rector, COO, Tender Committee, Academic Pro-Rector)
- contract negotiations (budget revisions, contracts, etc.)
b) management support during implementation
- assistance in contracting issues (researchers, administrators,
sub-contracting)
- financial management (processing of invoices, monitoring expenses)
- financial and management reporting, auditing
- distribution of grants (in collaboration with departments
and the Support Office
- maintaining database of proposals and ongoing projects, funding
schemes
- providing information to proposals, particularly to avoid overlaps
and competing bids to the same external funding source
- ensuring that projects implemented by various units and funded
by various sources interconnect for mutual benefit through establishing
communication channels among these projects
- coordination of research funding bids involving multiple departments/centers
- consultation and training for faculty, PhD students and administrative
staff involved in implementing research projects with external
funding.
- The monitoring of European and international 'best practices'
regarding research management and disseminating information about
them
