CASTL Leadership Program
The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has worked over the past 15 years to support scholarly teachers and scholarship of teaching within universities and colleges, disciplinary associations and within Carnegie’s own CASTL programs. These programs include individual scholar program, campus program and the institutional leadership program (for more information please visit the CASTL website. The CRC is a relative newcomer to this work but we have been selected to join the Institutional Leadership program in May 2006. The program is a chance to work with other universities and professional associations on working out models and approaches within specific topic areas. There are around 80 universities (100 campuses) in the program spanning US, Europe, Canada, Australia. The CEU-CRC team is the first and only continental European participant. We work within the graduate education group consisting of University College Cork, Michigan State University, Rutgers University, Howard University, the Association of American Geographers and the CITRL Network. The collaboration with our colleagues and learning form engagement within the larger CASTL community will allow us to develop further our own specific approaches and integrate our work better into the new field.
