Prepare Your Visit
Dear CRC Participant,
It is our aim and hope that your participation in the one-week CRC session at the Central European University will be both fruitful and enjoyable. In order to help you prepare your visit, we would like to provide a list of useful tips and links.
As you know, the one-week course development sessions are organized in cooperation with CEU departments. Each department has its own website hosted by the university, where you can find information about the structure of the department's Master of Arts and PhD programs, the permanent teaching staff and visiting faculty, description of the courses offered, etc. During your stay you will have the opportunity to visit classes offered by the host department and arrange individual meetings with CEU faculty. Therefore, please check on the department's website who are the faculty members currently teaching at the department and what courses they have this semester. In the CRC resource room (located in the university's library) you will find a collection of readers (a compilation of scientific articles, papers, book chapters, etc) for current and previous courses offered by CEU departments. The schedule of the host department for the week you will spend in Budapest will be included in your welcome package so that you can chose classes that you wish to visit.
During the CRC session you will also be granted access to the university's library, which has an extensive collection of materials, also searchable online. It might be a good idea to check whether the books and the journals that you are looking for are available.
A login account will also be provided which you can use to log in at any of the four computer labs in the university to send and receive e-mails while you are here, browse the Internet and print articles or other materials you find on the web.
As you could read in the description, the session will be one week long. Participants arrive on Saturday or Sunday and stay until the next Saturday or Sunday. Upon your arrival to Budapest Ferihegy airport, you should take an Airport Minibus to the CEU Kerepesi Residence and Conference Center, where you will be staying during the week. A welcome pack with the required information and materials will be deposited at the reception there for you. A transport pass will be included in the welcome pack, with which you can use all means of transportation to travel within Budapest for one week.
The organized program starts on Monday morning, when a CRC representative meets you at the reception to take you to CEU, which is in the center of the city.
Finally, we have collected a few more resources to help you better prepare yourself for your visit:
