COURSE DESCRIPTION


The course will include:

1. The basic GATT rules and principles that control national trade policies;

2. The GATT as dispute settlement organization;

3. The GATT as a trade policy negotiating forum.

The course will also treat the basic economic principles underlying the major GATT rules and the major changes in the GATT effected by the new Uruguay Round Agreement.
