     Progress Report

Paul Dragos Aligica is an Assistant Professor at the National School of Political Science and Public Administration Bucharest where he teaches Political Economy and Applied Decision Theory and a Research Fellow at Hudson Institute where he works at the Center for East European and Eurasian Studies. His academic background includes Ph.D. degrees in Sociology (University of Bucharest, 2000) and Economics (Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest,1998) and an ABD in Political Science (Indiana University Bloomington). His major specialization areas are Institutional Analysis and Development, Political Economy and Applied Decision Theory while his area studies specialization is South Eastern Europe. He is the author of three books and numerous articles and book chapters. He is a member of the International Studies Association, the American Political Science Association, the International Economics and Philosophy Society and the Romanian Political Science Association. His current projects include a study of the role of ideas in economic policy, an analysis of the political and economic integration in South Eastern Europe from an institutional and historical perspective, and an institutional examination of the performance of the Romanian state as an economic reform instrument.
