Student Scholarship Fund 2009
Nearly all students enrolled at CEU benefit from some form of scholarship or financial aid. However, some students still cannot afford to enroll and therefore choose to attend other schools in Europe, where costs are significantly lower, or in the United States, where more financial resources are available. By donating to the student scholarship fund, you will enable CEU to offer additional full fellowships (covering tuition, fees, living costs and even providing research funds) to students on the basis of merit.

Annual Fund 2009
Contributions to the Annual Fund provide much needed funds that can be directed to the areas of greatest need. Such gifts and donations for example provide resources to attract and retain high-caliber faculty at CEU. Travel stipends can also be supported, enabling students and faculty to attend conferences and conduct fieldwork. And finally, the Annual Fund can be used to fund the high profile lecture series that have become a hallmark of CEU.

Department and Program Support 2009
Donors further have the option to support students enrolled in specific departments and programs. This option is popular with alumni who would like to support students studying in “their department”.

"I would like to thank CEU Alumni & Friends Association once again for awarding me the alumni fellowship and giving me the opportunity to study at CEU. I can say that was one of the best years in my life and I would like to help other students get a chance of experiencing life in CEU. I have donated 100$ to the Annual Alumni Scholarship Fund and I hope to participate in alumni fundraising campaigns in the future!"

(Hungary, IRES '01) donates to the alumni scholarship campaign since 2003.
"I learned about the annual alumni fundraising campaign from the mail sent to me, and decided to contribute. It was a great year for me at CEU, and I would like to help someone to have such an opportunity too. Being a mother of two, however, I could not afford a high-level contribution. I had to find a way of giving that while significant, would not jeopardize our tight family budget. That is why I decided to regularly transfer 2,000 HUF (8 EUR) every month. This is small enough for the family budget, but annually adds up 100 EUR, and, I felt that it was already something. It is a wonderful feeling to give and be part of the alumni community. So, I would recommend this way of giving for all of you in similar situation."

Republic.
"Being a student at CEU made a real difference in my life. Today, being both student and teacher I apply the high CEU standards in my work. CEU opened new topics of interest for me and I am more sensitive to certain issues than before. Moreover, CEU friendships lasts! Whenever I am writing a paper about a specific country or topic, I can easily drop a line to a friend from the respective place and get useful information. And
guess where I spent New Years Eve? I met with other alumni from different countries and we visited all the places that mean so much for us in Budapest. I am grateful to the CEU alumni community that supported my studies and made my life much easier. I am already bearing the fruits of the CEU studies and will do so in the future for sure. Thank you!" |
